The IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is a popular test that examines your proficiency in using and understanding the English language. Many universities, employers, and immigration authorities in English-speaking countries require it from candidates. The test is divided into four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
In the Listening section, you listen to recordings and answer questions. The Reading section includes passages that test your understanding of written English. For Writing, you have two tasks to undertake, in which one necessitates describing a graph or chart, and the second requires giving an opinion or argument. In the Speaking section, there is a conversation with an examiner that would test speaking ability.
The IELTS scores range from 0 to 9, in bands, with each band representing a different level of English ability. It is a useful test if you want to study, work, or live in an English-speaking country. The test is available in over 140 countries worldwide.
